Description
Goji berries were always this exotic superfruit from far away in my eyes. However, Goji berries are hardy to zone 3! They produce tasty fruits once dried that are absolutely jam packed with antioxidants, anthocyanins, and phenolics. They are considered a powerhouse of a food/medicine by many cultures in the world. We prefer to dry the berries before eating and mix them with other nuts and fruit in a trail mix.
Growing Tips
Plant in well draining soil as much as possible when growing Goji’s. Once they’re established they are extremely drought tolerant. Their natural growth habit is it sprawl out and develop long shoots. You can train them to a trellis in smaller spaces. Goji berry is self fertile so you only need one plant to produce fruit. However, fruit production is greater when there are multiple plants to cross pollinate one another.
