We are truly amazed by Willows. They are an indispensable force in the food forest, in remediation, as an abundant nectar and pollen source for pollinators, as a material for basketry, and as a medicine. Willow are the earliest flowering trees in our cold place of the world! They are amazing friends to hungry bees after a long winter. Willows love being near the water, and are one of the few trees/shrubs that actually thrive in it. They are the perfect specimen for erosion control, and as a riparian buffer.
